What if it’s not too late?

What if…it’s right on time?

That’s the question I’ve been pondering as we move into the Skill Layer of this Stack Your Midlife journey.

If you’ve been hanging with me through the first four posts, here’s a quick recap before we dig into this next layer:

  • Post 1: Progress and Skill Stacking in Midlife – We kicked off with a big ol’ permission slip to ditch perfection and celebrate progress.

  • Post 2: The Power of Pausing – Because sometimes the most productive thing you can do is stop. Catch your breath. Rethink the plan.

  • Post 3: The Curiosity Muscle – We stretched that “what if?” muscle that makes life interesting again.

  • Post 4: Hobby, Hustle, or Just Because – We reminded ourselves that not everything we do needs to be monetized or mastered. Sometimes joy is the only reason you need.

Those four posts made up the Foundation & Discovery Layers. Now we’re stacking with intention. And today’s stackable skill?

👉🏾 Microlearning.

👉🏾 On your time.

The Real-Life Struggle to Make Space for Learning

Can I be honest? I want to be the woman who always has a podcast queued up, a course halfway done, a language app streak still going strong. But the truth is… if I don’t plan it, it doesn’t happen.

Between delivering orders, working on my blog, and trying to figure out how to be a human with hobbies again, I have to be intentional about learning moments.

If it’s a live course I really care about, I block that time off like it’s a hair appointment. (Because I will show up for my edges. Priorities.) If I miss it, I watch the replay—on purpose, not just when I “get a chance.”

But microlearning? That’s where the magic happens for me. Ten-minute podcasts while I’m driving deliveries. Audiobooks on my library app while I’m folding laundry. Those bite-sized bursts of insight that make you feel a little smarter than you did 15 minutes ago.

My Midlife Stack-in-Progress

Right now, I’m really leaning into learning more about AI—artificial intelligence.

And I know, I know… AI is one of those topics that either makes people light up or check out. Some of my friends are so over it, others have dabbled a little, and a few (like me) are like: It’s here. It’s growing. It’s not going anywhere. Let me at least learn how to use it in a way that helps me.

At the time I’m writing this, I’m looking forward to a free summit by Alicia Lyttle—the AI Queen herself—about using AI in marketing. I’ve seen her on podcasts, in posts, and she breaks things down in a way that feels attainable.

Truth be told, I’ve learned most of what I know about ChatGPT thanks to my husband and my friend over at SoLongCustoms.com. Between them and trial-and-error, I’ve gotten more comfortable using it and asking better questions to get the answers I really need.

(And honestly? I might write a whole post about AI and ChatGPT soon, because… it’s a thing. And it’s part of my stack.)

What I’d Love to Learn (In Small Bites)

If I could wave a magic wand and learn anything in small, no-pressure chunks? Here’s my list:

  • Spanish – I want to be able to do more than just order tacos. I want to hold a real conversation.

  • AI Tools – Not just dabbling, but actually using them to make my life and business easier.

  • Day Trading – I’d love to become a consistent earner, not just dabbling here and there.

  • Baking & Dessert Making – If someone else would just clean up the flour explosion after me, I’d be in the kitchen like I was auditioning for The Great British Bake Off. 🍰

So yeah… that’s my current dream stack.

And no, I don’t have it all figured out. But I’m stacking intentionally, one small bite at a time.

What If It’s Right On Time?

I’ll say it again:

What if this isn’t “too late” to learn? What if this is exactly the right time?

The midlife brain is ready. The tools are out there.

And your stack? It’s waiting to be built—bite by bite.

Let’s Keep Stacking (Together)

This post is part of my Stack Your Midlife series—a collection of chats designed to help you reset, reflect, and start stacking your life with intention. We started with mindset for foundation and discovering our new self. Now we’re in the skill layer.

Next up? More ways to stack smart—not just skills, but confidence, clarity, and choices that actually fit the life you want.

📣 Your turn!

What’s one thing you’ve learned lately—through a podcast, app, audiobook, YouTube video, or course? Drop it in the comments or tag me on social. I want to see your stack, too!
